This is just me thinking, but what if you had the pesant cards and the cards with sayings mixed together??? Maybe mostly peasant cards?? And people would pick one and not know what it was until they actually had the card?

1) Moths are fluffy and I do what I want k
2) So basically before they do the surgery you have to sign a waiver saying if they screw up you can’t sue so there goes that. It’s not a huge deal, just annoying. Anyway I’m pretty sure it runs in the family to have nerves really close to the wisdom teeth roots, because my mom had numb gums for years after hers were removed and my dad still can’t feel a spot on his lip. I’ll take a tingly tongue thanks.

So in the world where The Stepway takes place, I’ve basically created an entire world around the merfolk that will probably never be used in the story since Tayu’s essentially landlocked and Naken won’t come in until much later.

And so basically jellyfish merfolk would have a pretty difficult life because they’re so darned fragile, they can’t get places fast and can be hurt pretty easily.

Okay so basically jellyfish merfolk are basically huge scholars and fortune tellers. There are two big cities of jellyfish, one in the north and one in the south. It’s pretty cold there, but jellyfish merfolk generally have much more magic, so it’s not difficult for them to keep themselves warm. There aren’t many merfolk chosen to be jellyfish, but when they are, during the ceremony, there’s usually an escort already present, sent by the seers who predicted the change. A jellyfish merfolk would probably have to leave their parents at that young age—because of how fragile they become once they begin to develop their soft bodies, they have to quickly travel to a city, or else it would be near impossible to travel there afterwards.They might get a week of packing and goodbyes, and then it’s off.

Males are much, much more commonly jellyfish merfolk, which is odd, because females in general usually hold more magic. When there are females, they can have magic powers rivaling fey. Jellyfish merfolk can’t have children, also.

I’ve been thinking about creating a small story around a jellyfish boy becoming a history scholar. I’m just having trouble finding a design for him I like.
